This song is infectious.
I heard it on Huw Stevens’ show on Radio 1 this morning and fell instantly in love with it.
Featured on BBC Introducing and the Radio 1 Playlist this week, PartyClub are four boys from York who describe their music as “indiebounce”, which fits it rather perfectly really.
Young and Free has all the makings of an indie anthem. It’s the kind of song that would probably sound equally great live at a festival or played on a dancefloor (at an indie night, ofcourse – because we all know that on regular club nights, sadly, you’ll struggle to hear anything other than the Will.I.Ams and David Guettas of this world).
With a sound comparible to that of Two Door Cinema Club, or possibly The Futureheads, but that feels fresh and distinctly their own, there’s no reason why PartyClub shouldn’t become just as big as these two bands. They’re certainly one of the most exciting new bands that I’ve heard recently.
You can find some of PartyClub’s other songs on their spotify, they’re well worth a listen!
